To Purpose or not to Purpose?

Are we doing things on purpose in order to see … Purpose?

[The Purpose is] that through the church the complicated, many-sided wisdom of God in all its infinite variety and innumerable aspects might now be made known to the angelic rulers and authorities (principalities and powers) in the heavenly sphere. (Ephesians 3:10 AMP)

Proverbs chapter three tells us to “not lean onto our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge Him…”. This, at its practical place tells us exactly how to make good use of the time that we have: by purposefully acknowledging God in all our ways.

  • I have two kids. They and my husband’s needs require about 85% of my time any given day. Giving me about 15% to do anything else (including shower/grooming) for myself. However, as I work intentionally or rather, on purpose, submitting my works to God, while focusing on my first things first, which is taking care of my family, and letting Him take care of the rest; not only does this limited time multiply, but so does His wisdom, His counsel, and His direction to me.

Life is short.

All the time we seemed to have while we were young, now (during seasons of family or other responsibilities that catch up to us!) seem totally useless if we’re not ultimately doing what we’re called to do. But what are we being called to at this very moment? Focus on this and do it first; understand it later, and acknowledge God in it, look for the wisdom and get understanding in it. Even if it seems pointless. Do it now.
