An Act of Service

True service, as an extension of God’s will, must be intentional and inspired by genuine desire, not obligation, to avoid the pitfalls of false worship akin to ancient idolatry (e.g., Asherah, Molech, Chemosh), which led to Solomon’s downfall and can manifest as self-glorification or neglect of family under the guise of service. The article cautions against trying to serve everyone, emphasizing that, unlike Abraham or Jesus, whose singular acts brought righteousness and salvation to all, our role is to serve selectively and sacredly, avoiding mechanical “cogdom” and shameful sacrifices, so that through prayerful, joyful service we rebuild the temple of the Holy Spirit, honor God with our first fruits, and align with His grace, as exemplified by Jesus’ sacrifice in Romans 5:15.
