This day follows another day follows another day and so on…. The system is the same, but the day is not. Yes, the day is still a day, perhaps like any other day, but it’s what makes it to-day that sets all the difference.
One of the definitions of “to” is: expressing purpose or intention (as in: “I set out to buy food”)
We could look at this day as just another day… but then we can’t really call it today, can we? Today is a day with purpose and intention.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”- Matthew 6:34
Worry is just one way to rob us of the purpose of this day, to destroy the peace within us. But it doesn’t have to. One day is enough. It is enough to set our destiny.
So, imagine just living for this day. Just today. What would you do differently?
One idea I’m going to try is to put a bit more effort into being kind. Kindness and mercy however do not come easy. I’ll need help. Even asking for this help requires me 100% putting my faith into the One who helps me …today.
Make this day great by being deliberately in it, all of it, while leaning on Him who is there to help.
By allowing Him to help, we don’t have to set the boundaries. He does… By letting Him set the parameters, we’ll have the strength to reach the end of this day… in His mercy, with purpose.
